I am currently working on a product line for a museum gift shop. The target audience is 7-14 year old school children, who usually visit on field trips. They want “young and hip, eye-catching designs” with great color. I was told to refrain from the use of purple because in past experiences, purple items have sat on the shelves for far too long.
